Piggable full port isolation valves are ball valves specified to have an ID nearly the same as the pipe ID and thus provide smooth passage of the pig through the valve. However, “full port” is a term and not a valve ID specification and has a wide range of meaning between valve manufacturers. Piggable schedule 10 isolation valves are specially manufactured ball valves for use with larger ID schedule 10 piping. Piggable schedule 10 isolation valve are supplied by Pigging Solutions and assure smooth and reliable pig passage in schedule 10 pigging application.
Piggable wafer valves are isolation ball valves that have two features beneficial to pigging. First the valve ball is designed with an internal diameter (ID) nearly the same size as the pipe which allows the pig to pass through the valve without creating a “pinch point” and increased pressure requirements. Second the valve has no inlet or outlet body section to trap residual product and become a source of potential cross-contamination.
